AIR DUCT CLEANING

What can build up inside your air ducts?

Dust, dirt and debris can build up inside ductwork over time. Visible buildup around vents, debris inside accessible ductwork, musty odors and recent construction are all reasons homeowners may consider professional air duct cleaning.

Our technicians use negative air equipment and air agitation tools to loosen and collect debris from accessible supply and return ductwork. If we identify additional cleaning that may be beneficial, such as coil, blower or HVAC cabinet cleaning, we explain the recommendation and provide the price before any additional work is performed.

HOW OFTEN

When Should You Have Your Air Ducts Cleaned?

There is no single schedule that applies to every home. The need for air duct cleaning depends on the condition of the ductwork, the age of the system, household conditions and whether the system has been exposed to construction dust, excessive debris or other contamination.

If you see significant buildup in your ductwork, notice debris around your vents or have never had the system professionally cleaned, it may be worth having the system evaluated.

Every 3-5 Years

Standard interval

Cleaning may be appropriate when there is visible contamination, excessive dust or debris, evidence of contamination inside the system, renovation debris, water intrusion, pest activity or other conditions that warrant professional cleaning.

Sooner if: Straight away after a renovation, a re-roof, a water leak, or any sign of rodents in the attic. Drywall dust is the single worst thing that gets into a duct system.

Book an inspection
Immediately

Health triggers

If anyone in the house has allergies or an upper respiratory condition and their symptoms have worsened indoors, the duct system should be inspected without waiting for the interval.

Sooner if: Symptoms that ease when you leave the house and return within a day of coming back.

Book an inspection
Straight After

Building work

Renovation is the fastest way to foul a clean system. Drywall dust is fine enough to pass the filter and abrasive enough to stay in the duct lining once it lands.

OUR METHOD

Our Air Duct Cleaning Process

Our technicians use negative air pressure along with air whips and agitation tools to loosen debris from the ductwork and collect it with HEPA filtered equipment.

The process is performed systematically through the accessible supply and return ductwork. The equipment and cleaning method are selected based on the type and condition of the duct system.

How the process works

1. Check the system

We check the accessible ductwork and HVAC system before beginning the requested service.

2. Connect negative air equipment

The negative air machine creates controlled airflow that helps contain and collect loosened debris during cleaning.

3. Clean the ductwork

Air whips and other agitation tools are used at the vents to loosen dust and debris inside the ductwork.

4. Collect the debris

The negative air equipment captures the material removed from the duct system rather than allowing it to circulate back through the home.

5. Sanitize when appropriate

Sanitation is available as an additional service when appropriate for the system and the customer's needs.

6. Clean up and review the work

We clean the work area and explain any additional recommendations we believe may benefit the system.

WHY IT MATTERS ON FLEX DUCT

Cleaner ducts, and no new leaks to pay for later

Compressed air reaches the full length of a run and around bends that a brush head cannot pass, and it does it without contact. Nothing scrapes the inner liner, so the duct that comes out clean is the same duct that went in.

  • No torn, ripped or pulled-apart flex runs — the common damage from brush cleaning
  • Reaches duct work that is difficult to access with traditional methods
  • Directional air plus agitation tools, matched to what each run is built from

How an air duct cleaning actually runs, step by step

1

Inspect and quote in writing

We look at your actual system — vent count, duct type, condition and access — and give you the price before anything is unpacked. No fixed figure quoted sight unseen, and no revision once we are inside.

2

Mask every grille

Supply grilles are cleaned, then a purpose-made duct mask goes over every grille and vent. That is what lets us target one run at a time: with the system under negative pressure, the machine pulls from the duct we are working on rather than the whole house at once.

3

Put the system under negative pressure

Our negative air machine connects to the duct work and collects everything we release, carrying it out to the truck. Nothing is exhausted back into the rooms, which is the difference between removing dust and relocating it.

4

Clean with directional compressed air

High-pressure air from a truck-mounted compressor, combined with agitation tools matched to the duct type, lifts debris off the liner along the full length of each supply and return run — without the contact damage that tears flexible duct.

5

Sanitise and deodorise

Once the returns and supplies are clean, the system is treated with EnviroCON, an all-natural antimicrobial. Applied to a clean system only — sanitiser sprayed over dirt is a fragrance, not a treatment.

6

Unmask, vacuum and photograph

The duct masks come off, every area we worked in is vacuumed, and you get before and after photographs of your own runs by email before we leave the street.

We had our dryer vent cleaned by CAD Clean Air Duct Cleaning, and I’m honestly so glad we did. It hadn’t been cleaned in years, definitely not since we moved in a couple of years ago, so it was long overdue. The tech JJ showed up right on time, got to work quickly, and was super respectful of the space. He didn’t waste any time but still made sure to explain what he was doing and why it mattered. You could tell he knew his stuff. The dryer’s working noticeably better now! Clothes dry faster and the airflow is clearly improved. He also gave us a quote for whole-house duct cleaning while he was here, and based on how smooth and efficient this visit was, we’re already planning to book them again. Definitely recommend CAD Clean Air Duct Cleaning if you’re looking for honest, professional service that gets results at an affordable price. Can’t beat that!

We used Mold & Duct Cleaning Experts for mold testing before moving in. My husband had so many questions, David ended up staying way later than he probably should've of. It was much appreciated though because we ended up renting somewhere else. I feel like we dodged a bullet. Thanks David.

We've been using Clean Air Duct Cleaning for several years now and they continue to provide outstanding service every time. It's rare to find a company that consistently delivers such professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer care. A special thank you to Amy, who always makes scheduling easy and stress-free. She is friendly, organized, responsive and such a pleasure to work with. Her communication and attention to detail help make the entire process seamless from start to finish. We'd also like to recognize JJ, who performed our most recent service. He was punctual, friendly, professional and took the time to explain the work being performed. He answered any questions we had and it's clear he takes pride in doing the job right and ensuring customer satisfaction. Though we didn't personally communicate with Zarek, who was training under and assisting JJ, it was great to see the teamwork between them and both represented the company exceptionally well. The quality of the work, level of professionalism, and excellent customer service are why we continue to trust Clean Air Duct Cleaning year after year. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable company that truly values its customers. Thank you, Amy, JJ and Zarek for another great experience!

Updated, they are working to make it right. If a company is willing to stand behind their work they are ok in my book. I paid 450$ to this company to clean my air ducts expecting them to actually clean them. I have had some asthma issues and looked in our air ducts again and look what I found. They later called me to explain why it was there I am notadvocating for the lack of information initially however if they make it right I’m good.

I make an appointment to have my air duct cleaned today. J.J and Roy came and inspected my air ducts and explained and showed me that my air ducts where clean and that all the black that I seeing is due to sooot from the candle burning and that I didn't need that service. I was really shook and impressed for their honesty. Most of the companies are only looking for the money and for charging you, even if you don't need it. They were nice, professionals and gave me some advise for future care of my air conditioning unit. I will definitely will be recommending this company to my friends. It is one in a million you can found a company that is honest and give you good service. Thanks guys!!!

COMPLETE GUIDE

What Does Air Duct Cleaning Involve?

Professional air duct cleaning focuses on removing accumulated dust and debris from the accessible supply and return ductwork connected to your HVAC system.

At Clean Air Duct Cleaning, we connect negative air equipment to the HVAC system and use air whips and other agitation tools at the vents to loosen dust and debris inside the ductwork. The negative air equipment helps collect the material removed during the cleaning process.

The exact work performed depends on the type, condition and accessibility of the duct system. Our standard air duct cleaning focuses on the ductwork itself. Additional HVAC cleaning, such as blower wheel, evaporator coil or accessible HVAC cabinet cleaning, can be performed when needed.

If additional cleaning is recommended, we explain what we found and provide the price before performing the additional work.

How Are Air Ducts Cleaned?

Professional air duct cleaning uses specialized equipment to loosen and collect dust and debris from the ductwork. The cleaning method depends on the type and condition of the duct system.

At Clean Air Duct Cleaning, our technicians use negative air equipment along with air whips and agitation tools to clean accessible supply and return ductwork. The equipment creates controlled airflow while the agitation tools loosen material inside the ductwork so it can be collected through the cleaning system.

The technician works through the accessible vents systematically to address the connected ductwork. The goal is to remove accumulated debris from the areas that can be properly accessed and cleaned.

Does Air Duct Cleaning Include the HVAC Equipment?

Standard air duct cleaning focuses on the ductwork connected to the supply and return vents. HVAC equipment such as the blower wheel, evaporator coil and accessible cabinet areas are separate components that may require additional cleaning.

During scheduled service, our technician checks the accessible system before beginning the requested cleaning. If additional HVAC cleaning appears appropriate, we will explain what we found and provide the price before performing the additional work.

This allows you to decide which services you want performed instead of automatically including additional HVAC cleaning in the standard duct cleaning price.

What Is Included With Standard Air Duct Cleaning?

Our standard residential air duct cleaning is priced at $35 per vent with a $350 minimum. One HVAC system connection is included.

The standard service focuses on the accessible supply and return ductwork connected to that HVAC system. Additional HVAC systems and additional HVAC component cleaning are priced separately.

We can provide a free phone estimate for most standard residential air duct cleaning based on the information you provide. If the scope of work changes after the system is checked, we explain the additional work and confirm the price before proceeding.

How Long Does Air Duct Cleaning Take?

Most residential air duct cleaning services take approximately 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the home, number of vents, duct system configuration and accessibility.

Larger homes, multiple HVAC systems or additional HVAC cleaning may require additional time.

What Happens After the Cleaning?

Once the cleaning is complete, we clean the work area and review the service with you. Before and after photos may be taken when applicable so you can see the condition of the ductwork and the work that was performed.

If we identified additional cleaning or maintenance that may benefit the system, we explain our findings and provide the price before any additional work is performed.

HVAC duct cleaning near you in Central Florida

Duct work looks different county to county. Coastal Pasco County homes fight salt-heavy humidity; Hernando County runs its systems nearly year-round; the Nature Coast humidity in Citrus County accelerates microbial growth. Pair duct cleaning with dryer vent cleaning or a certified chimney sweep and one visit covers every air pathway in the house.

Air duct cleaning FAQ

01When should you have your air ducts cleaned?

There is no single schedule that applies to every home. Ductwork in residential homes should be inspected every 2 years. Cleaning may be appropriate when there is visible buildup in accessible ductwork, excessive debris around vents, recent construction, water intrusion, pest activity or other conditions affecting the system.

02How much does air duct cleaning cost?

Our standard residential air duct cleaning is $35 per vent with a $350 minimum. One HVAC system connection is included. Additional HVAC systems, HVAC component cleaning and other services are priced separately when needed. We explain any additional work and confirm the price before performing it.

03What are signs my air ducts may need cleaning?

Visible buildup around vents, debris inside accessible ductwork, musty odors, recent construction or renovation, water intrusion, pest activity or an unknown cleaning history can all be reasons to consider air duct cleaning.

04Why is air duct cleaning important in Florida?

Florida's warm and humid climate creates perfect conditions for mold, dust, pollen, and other contaminants to accumulate in your air ducts. The majority of homes and businesses in Florida utilize fiberglass duct systems which collect particles of dust, allergens, and debris over time. Air duct cleaning improves indoor air quality, enhances energy efficiency, prevents mold growth, eliminates odors, and extends HVAC system lifespan.
